JOSE ANGEL LEONEL DE CERVANTES ASCENCIO AKA(Sativa Jo) gets into electronic music after he had tasted the sounds of trance and dance music since he was kid, sneaking at parties and experimenting the electronic culture. So he obviously loved electronic sounds, but it was progressive house and big parties that really turned sativa on. He began mixing at some local parties with his friends and driving his parents crazy at home. A few months later he decided to get into this business In 2002, Sativa Jo worked at a bar named "Barracuda” spinning his legendary 6 hour dj sets there every day, and then he was invited to play at the Bar house, Galaxy, local parties, private parties, and he even mix at some parties in Dallas Texas At the next year he had the chance to share his music, in one of the most important rave parties in Mexico with an amazing line up of national and international artists such as Tegma, Facotor-d Segment, Morphem, Haldolium, Dj Pena, Dj Soldan, James Monroe and loads of local talents. He graduated of audio engineer in December of 2006. At the next year SATIVA soon took the leap and moved to Cozumel to spin at the red door lounge and some days at the Purple Haze. Then he came back to Mexico City to continue his projects, a few months later a company asked him to produce a cd of electronic music for their forthcoming promo things so he asked Side Behind and the cd was made of their own material, a project called SHMUTIVA. By 2008 as a dj and Producer he moved towards and he began Mandarina Records Mexico (www.mandarinarecordsmexico.com ) his own independent record label and dj crew, booking national and international djs and producers, promoting events and working on several remixes and collaborations with well known artists, not to mention that he had received much support from great djs, booking agencies and producers. Sativa Jo established himself as one of the best Djs of dance music community, he builds a reputation as a distinguished DJ and producer, his Djing skills are equal to his production .
